TCCA In response to 12 week isolation of elderly and vulnerable a number of community leader set up a social media Covid-19 Turkish Cypriot Support paypal.me/tccacovid Page.
This page aims to provide befriending for elders, emergency support, advice, and emergency packs of essentials such as bread, toilet paper, eggs, food items etc. Over the last week, the demand for the service that we are providing, has increased overwhelmingly. We are finding that many elders have no food, no help, feel lonely and crave support. One example was a lady of 74, who was in her home confused as she suffers from dementia, no support and living on scraps of food for two days.
What we want to do is raise funds, so that we can arrange delivery of essential packs to those who are housebound. Particularly the elderly, over the age of 70 and the frail. We want to ensure that we minimise the loneliness they suffer and ensure they have the essentials to get through this ordeal.
What we need is to raise funds... these funds will be used to organise online deliveries to those identified in need. The cost of each pack will be around £25.
Therefore for a contribution of:
£25 will ensure one pack is delivered
£100 will ensure one person has essential packs for a month.
£300 will ensure that one person has essential packs through this isolation period.
Full outline of every penny spent will be given in 12 weeks. Please help us help those in need our nene's, dede's, hala's and amca's.
Apart from the packs, everything else we will be doing, is as volunteers.
