Turkey as a country is most closely associated with Islam; however, there are small thriving communities of Christians living in the country. Unfortunately, because of geopolitical issues, Christianity is often not well-received, which makes servicing these communities very difficult. However, there are still organizations in Turkey taking on this task, such as Kucak Ministries.

Kucak Ministries has been a Christian organization since its beginning in 1995. They started as a publishing house with the goal of providing materials to help Christian communities in Turkey prosper. They would publish Bibles and pamphlets in Turkish that parents could use to provide their kids with a semblance of religious education in a culture designed against it. Although they started as a publishing company, Kucak Ministries now goes beyond pamphlets and directly helps kids learn about Christ.

During the summer months Kucak Ministries runs a series of camps for Christian children in Turkey. These camps are a safe haven for children who have likely been persecuted for their faith before, and who may have never met another Christian child. Kucak Ministries allows kids to be kids through these camps. The camps are not only open for those who have been mistreated in the name of Christ, but also for those who have been abused and seek refuge, and offer a place with the presence of our saviour.

I and three of my close friends from Gordon College are going on this trip this summer to serve the Lord and carry out his work by volunteering at this camp. We will work hard to deliver the love of Christ to the children overseas. We are here asking for your prayer, support, and generosity. Any amount helps, as well as prayers. Anything is possible through the sheer will of our Lord.
