On the 6th February, Turkey and Syria were devastated when a 7.8 magnitude earthquake killed more than 24,000 people.

Our hometown of Adana, Turkey has been badly destroyed.

Our brother, his wife and their four year old daughter have just been told that their family home must now be demolished.

Our mum works in the Emergency Department in the biggest hospital in Southern Turkey. She says that thousands of people are turning up at the hospital to sleep, because they have nowhere else to go.

The buildings are still unsafe to enter - so our family, like thousands of others, are continuing to sleep night after night in cars, in snow and freezing cold conditions.

“The streets are completely silent” - this was a comment made by our brother.

Half of the funds raised from this Gofundme will be passed onto our mum so she can buy warm winter clothing and hot nourishing food for people in need who are currently sleeping in tents in the hospital car park.

The other half will go towards our brother's family to help re-build their home and also assist with temporary shelter so they don't have to sleep in their car.

When donations are given to larger charities, 80% of the money does not reach the people, because it goes first into paying employee wages, advertising, branding, etc. In this way, you can make a direct impact.

Please hold our family, and the communities of Turkey and Syria in your prayers. This area has huge symbolic importance for all of humanity because it is home to some of the oldest archeological sites on Earth.
