The TURK Family Story
We are raising funds today for the Turk Family, good people who have been through difficult times and need all of our help right now. Jason is a proud US Navy veteran who hit upon a rough patch in his life several years ago when he had a bike accident, after which he spiraled into a deep depression. But the most tragic and unjust moment in Jason’s life, and his greatest setback, was what happened the night he was alone in his car, feeling suicidal, and his wife called the police for help. In a story recounted by WFLA News Channel 8 in great detail, instead of helping Jason in his moment of mental health crisis, a police officer shot him through his car window hitting him twice in the face. Jason needed multiple surgeries for recovery and needs more still. And then he faced new, unprecedented obstacles in getting his life back on track & sustaining his business.
We are so blessed that Jason survived the police shooting, for the sake of his wife, his three beautiful daughters, and for the entire community to which he and Amanda add so much. Jason made an incredible comeback and went on to successfully graduate from the University of Tampa. But between the Turks’ medical bills, living expenses and ongoing legal fight for justice, they need financial help. Recently, Jason had his car repossessed, which is essential for his work. They need help getting it back.
Please help the Turks so that they can get back on track with their lives, their business, and in support of their whole family. We love the Turks, and we all want to show our support for their family at this time, because we need them right here right now, as the intelligent, gracious, good-humored, active participants & members of this Florida community that they are!
