Turf War :Dogs Gone Wild.
Dawn Fillips owner of " Dogs Gone Wild," her friends, and all their dogs are waging a battle to get turf in her arena. There is
presently no place on Long Island offering dog agility training on a turf surface.
. Turf is resilient allowing a dog to dig down and be comfortable.
. Turf is resistant to variations in temperature so it’s never too dry or too wet.
. Turf is even ; there are no divots, ruts , or slopes, making it easier for handlers to run.
. Turf is cleaner, minimizing bacteria and easier to clean.
. Turf assists in injury protection and is recuperative for existing conditions.
Dawn has done considerable research to ensure the turf selected will keep our dogs safe and sound year
after year. She has chosen " True Turf" by "Grass Tex." This is non-slip , has comfort cushioning and has no rubber insert.
The expense of the project is high but so is the benefit to the dogs and agility community. Lessons, seminars ,
shows and matches will all be more fun, cleaner, and especially safer.
Other fundraising efforts are underway but this will be the primary source of support. If you train with Dawn
or have taken seminars there, please be generous. If you lease space there, please support this effort. If you
know Dawn, witnessed her skills and dedication to her dogs and to the sport , please help out. If you don’t do
agility but have a friend who does , if you have seen agility on television and just think it is neat , or if you just love
dogs please help out even with a small donation.
Every donation is appreciated and will go a long way to improve the training experience of handlers and their dogs for years to
come.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
