I am raising money for my friend and co-worker Karen Turbeville. Her husband Brian, the love of her life, is in the intensive care unit on life-support fighting for his life. He was admitted three weeks ago and the prognosis is not good. He has been struggling with necrotizing pancreatitis for the past seven years and most recently his health has been declining. With him unable to work and her away from work to be by his side, she is facing in unbearable amount of financial stress. They just celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on 2/15/17 in the hospital. While holding his hand, he opened his eyes for one brief moment to acknowledge that he knew she was there for him, still holding on for hope. On 2/15/17, the family was called in. The sadness that I feel in my heart for them is indescribable.
