Help Rebuild Tunstead Oysters After the Flood
We need your help!!!
In 2021, Tunny was a hero of the Hastings .. always the first to lend a hand, helping mates and strangers alike during tough times. Now, it’s Tunny’s turn to need a hand.
After the most recent devastating flood, the Tunstead Oysters lease has gone completely under. With insurance premiums skyrocketing to four times their original cost after the last flood, it simply became impossible to keep paying. This has left one of our region’s most loved fifth-generation oyster farmers struggling to rebuild from scratch.
We’re reaching out to the community to help Tunny and his family stay in business and continue doing what they love, farming some of the finest oysters in the Hastings.
If you’re able to help, please donate what you can or consider contributing practical support, such as:
Forklifts
Oyster garters (x2)
Purification tanks
Water pumps
Builders to help safely pull down a damaged shed on the water
An electrician to rewire the lease infrastructure
Even if you can’t donate financially, sharing this link, offering materials, or lending a hand during clean-up makes a huge difference.
You have no idea how much this support will mean to Tunny and his family as they work to get back on their feet.
If you or someone you know can help with supplies, labour, or clean-up efforts, please contact Beck on 0455 106 370
Let’s rally around a local legend and help bring Tunstead Oysters back to life. Every little bit helps.
