For the past 4 years, I have been producing episodes of TuneTrek, short films that combine history with music. Many of you have enjoyed these videos released independently through YouTube with six episodes airing on WOSU in Columbus, Ohio.
HIHOWAREYA. My name is MikelParis. Creator, Host, Artist, Producer, and Editor of TuneTrek. Yeah, it has been a solo trek and, as much fun that has been , it’s time to up the game for a new season on PBS. Better gear, new songs, and an award winning editing team are in place to introduce TuneTrek to a national audience.
TuneTrek explores Historic landmarks while I’m on tour playing music with the band O.A.R and tells the stories of these interesting locations through photography, video, and an original song that I write and perform at each location. It’s entertaining, spontaneous, educational, and has appeal for all ages.

During the last 4 years, I’ve experimented and evolved the format of the show into what is now a concise, 3-minute video that grabs -- and keeps -- the viewer’s. It’s the perfect length for today’s (sometimes) short attention span and gives the feeling of a music video. TuneTrek will not only reach a home viewing audience but become integrated into a series of learning and educational outlets. Children will be inspired through music to learn about our history and teachers and schools will be encouraged to take field trips to the locations filmed near their schools.
The new season on PBS will consist of 16 three-minute episodes with an additional 10 minutes of extra content available online. The budget has been set at $96,000 which includes a team handling production, post production, equipment, permits, insurance, studio recoding of featured songs, creation of merchandise, graphic design and publicity. I’m keeping the budget as lean as possible and $96K for a full season is pretty lean.
I’d like your help in creating TuneTrek. Various levels of financial assistance will be rewarded with personal copies of episodes, exclusive signed TuneTrek merchandise, a pre release signed copy of “Songs of TuneTrek S1” and even a private concert in your home by me, MikelParis. In addition, donors at specific levels will be invited to experience the filming of a TuneTrek episode and even have a cameo in an episode. Release is set for Spring 2017. Please support TuneTrek on PBS and be a part of creating a new art form.
