Tune up Philly Mitzvah Project

Hello.  My name is Simone Donoho, and for my Bat Mitzvah project, I am raising money for an organization called Tune Up Philly. Tune up Philly, a program of the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, focuses on creating and inspiring true community evolution through both the power of music and purposeful connection. Tune Up Philly provides children in underserved communities with invaluable opportunities to learn and perform a differentiated orchestral music curriculum while simultaneously engaging in life-skills that will ultimately make a difference in their lives. Please help me raise money by making a donation to help buy new instruments and provide new music for the Tune Up Philly children.

This campaign is very close to my heart. I play the trumpet in the Philadelphia Young Musicians Orchestra, another ensemble of the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra organization, where I have the opportunity to be part of a large full symphonic orchestra. It has been a fabulous experience. I have been exposed to fantastic musicians, great conductors, and have been a part of an amazing team with incredible performances on major stages. I feel very lucky to have this opportunity, and I would like to help make sure that Philadelphia's underserved communities have similar opportunities that I have been fortunate enough to experience.  I have learned to challenge myself, set goals, and made a commitment to be a part of a group. 

I will be donating all money raised directly to Tune Up Philly because I believe that one intrument can change a lifetime.
