Help me launch Tune Into You Media projects

TUNE INTO YOU MEDIA is a new company that I am seeking your support for. Any contributions you can make are greatly appreciated. I started with a podcast and extremely limited resources, but with a lot of passion to create and grow a media company that will produce and publish quality multimedia projects focused on wellness, consciousness, and creativity as well as manage and promote talented artists and practitioners.

I love to interview people, and I care and value connection. Having my own media company will allow me to best utilize my passion, talents, and desire to be of service to others. Most of the projects I am currently working on are about spirituality, personal growth and development, and the healing arts, including (but not limited to) meditation, music, and dance. I have already interviewed a few Ecstatic Dance facilitators (some of which are already published on my YouTube channel) and I plan to do more coverage of events like Ecstatic Dance and other modalities that facilitate growth, transformation, conscious connection, and the culture of consent.

I have over 25 years of professional experience as a meditation teacher and holistic (Ayurvedic) wellness practitioner. I was a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation (TM) technique and Co-Director of the successful Los Angeles TM Center and I have also worked with the media and content teams for two large nonprofits, organizing and promoting benefit concerts and events, and more recently editing content for a meditation app. I have had the tremendous fortune to work under the guidance of some of the best mentors in the business, including filmmaker David Lynch, legendary Troubadour Donovan, and the highly respected meditation teacher and CEO of the David Lynch Foundation, Bob Roth.

Music has always been a huge part of my life and I have a particularly deep love for Afrobeats. It started in a very unlikely place. Fairfield, Iowa, where every weekend 40-200 students from West, Central, and East Africa gathered in my house and danced.

Since then, I have been dreaming of working with and supporting Afrobeats artists to grow their connections and careers outside of Nigeria. This is why I am excited to spotlight and also raise funds for Valdozzy, a musician from Enugu, Nigeria.

Valdozzy is a gifted singer, songwriter, and fine arts painter whom I had the privilege of befriending on social media. As soon as I heard his music, I knew that I wanted to invest my time and energy into supporting his career somehow. It has been an inspiring connection and I am so thrilled to be fundraising for my projects as well as his because I believe he will be successful internationally, and I enjoy supporting him as a person and an artist and I hope you will be inspired to invest in him as well!

The path leading up to my launching TUNE INTO YOU MEDIA has not been easy, but I know that I will thrive with the right tools and resources.

In 2018, I was working closely with DJ and producer, Avicii, just before his tragic passing. I had already been deep in grief due to deaths in my family, but Avicii’s death hit me particularly hard. Like many people, I was traumatized by his death. During the first year after he passed, I didn’t sleep much and had numerous health issues that were exacerbated due to the lack of sleep and have spent the last 5 years trying to get back on track in my life.

Avicii’s passing was also a major catalyst for my healing and evolution and it made me realize how precious and short life is. The loss also made me realize that love, joy, authenticity, and connection are some of the most important “things” in life and I want to spend the rest of my years doing things that nurture and spread these values in the world.

Eventually, I want to build wellness and retreat facilities that will be a haven for artists, seekers, musicians, and healers to rest, rejuvenate, and create. I have been designing these centers in my mind for over 20 years and have enjoyed building smaller versions and running meditation centers and private event spaces.

Part of my overall vision for launching my media brand and building a network of like-minded people who have the skills and vision to build something beautiful together, is to create virtual and physical space for profound healing to take place.

In 2023, I decided to leave a long-term career in pursuit of my dreams. It was a big jump because I was also in a precarious physical situation and was unable to work for a few months. So, I am particularly in need of support to move my visions forward. I am so grateful for any financial or personal support you can offer so I can focus my attention on TUNE INTO YOU MEDIA.

What are the TUNE INTO YOU MEDIA projects?

1. PODCAST

I started the Tune Into You podcast in March 2023 with very limited technology to do it, but I didn’t want to wait until I had the perfect setup because I was eager to start having conversations about topics I am passionate about.

2. PUBLISHING

I have been working on a few manuscripts. I am in the process of seeking a literary agent and/or publisher but am also considering self-publishing and the many advantages it has.

3. ARTIST MANAGEMENT AND PROMOTION

Over the years I have been asked by several musicians to manage them. Due to other professional commitments, I never had the time to dedicate my energy to this, but I have wanted to work closely with artists to build and help manage their careers in some capacity.

I have especially been dreaming of working with Nigerian musicians to help them organize, promote their careers, and help them network outside of Nigeria. When I met Valdozzy, I was inspired to help him get seen and heard by more people and to help raise funds for him to create and promote his music in the way that he wants to.

I have already paid for and built him a website and press kit. I have spent a few weeks interviewing him and editing videos for this fundraising campaign and I want to keep going. I truly believe that by working together, we can create so much magic in the world.
