Hello, Friends
In late 2009, as a Christmas gift I was given an adorable little ragdoll kitten by my mother. We named her Asia. 17 years have passed since then, and she has just been the best cat for me ever. She was there during times where I felt isolated, times where I struggled, the hardest times like the loss of my father, through everything that's passed in my life since then, I've had this little companion.
Unfortunately, in recent months she's had a growth on the side of her face which has been increasingly restricting her breathing. It seems apparent through consulting with multiple vet clinics that this is a nasal tumor.
While she is 17 which is considered old for her breed, she would be in otherwise good health if not for this tumor. While this is indeed terminal, and I want to give her the most comfortable experience with the time she has left, I have been exploring numerous treatment options for this type of cancer.
I am hesitant to put her through traditional radiation and chemotherapy given her age and the impact that those may have on her quality of life. I have found less invasive treatment options such as laser, cryo, thermal, and radiofrequency ablation as well as electrochemotherapy and HDR brachytherapy to be quite interesting. I am in the process of reaching out to providers of these treatments to decide the best path forward.
The reality of the modern costs of extensive oncology veterinary care are beyond my current feasible capability to pay. I have been shocked, honestly, at the modern costs for even basic vet care as of late, let alone procedures such as this.
I have never done any sort of crowdfunding before, but if there's anything you can contribute to helping me in this last-ditch effort to fight for my cat's life, or to help provide her quality end of life care, I would be eternally grateful.
Thank you for your consideration.
