Tummi Strong: Cancer Sucks

Hi! Our names are Juliana and Jane and we are setting up a fundraiser to help raise money for our best friend Tommy, aka Tummi aka Tums aka A Play of Light.

Many of you might not be aware but in September 2023 Tommy was hospitalized for some lower abdomen pain and was hit with some devastating news that a mass was resting on his left testicle and it needed to be removed immediately. He underwent surgery and went through surgery recovery with no complications. Eventually a biopsy was performed and tests were run, unfortunately, it was confirmed that he does in fact have Testicular Cancer. Following his surgery he was directed to follow up and confirm that the cancer did not spread. Unfortunately, he did not have coverage from his insurance for additional treatment. He was forced to wait until the open enrollment period to allow him to sign up for the coverage he needed to continue with the treatment plan. As a result of having to wait several months for the next year to roll over, the cancerous cells spread from his testicles into his stomach. In March of this year, he went to the hospital due to difficulties breathing and found another mass now resting on his mid abdomen affecting his lungs, kidney and surrounding areas. At this moment, the doctor did not recommend a removal of this mass but to begin undergoing chemotherapy in order to shrink this mass while simultaneously killing off any cancer cells present in his body. He now has been going through chemotherapy since the end of March. However, his current status is that while going through chemo, he has been experiencing more life threatening complications than the doctor anticipated and just recently (mid May) he was hospitalized.

To spare any major details and to make a long story short, Tommy has been struggling emotionally and financially and physically in a lot of pain since going back into the hospital back in March 2025. Tommy has been going through all of this while trying to maintain his A Play of Light wedding videography business but we all know how financially stressful medical expenses can be. So, we are inviting you to lend a helping dollar, if you are able, to help our friend with his ongoing medical expenses. We are hoping to reduce any financial burden on Tommy as he continues to deal with this cancer and its treatments.
