Support Colombian Unicyclists of Tumaco

Hello,

This fundraiser is to support a group of unicyclists in Tumaco, a very remote town in Colombia near the border of Ecuador, where they are trained by Carlos Meza.

Carlos, a native of Tumaco, is teaching young kids to ride, perform, and compete on unicycles. His group is called “LAS ⭐ DEL MONOCICLO TROPA MEZA” (or The Meza Troupe - Unicycle Stars”).

Carlos learned as a result of his time as a performer with the world famous King Charles Troupe, a popular Black unicycle group that performed with in the Ringling Bros. circus for many years. But, Tumaco is in a very remote region. So it is very expensive to get unicycles and other parts.

I and others have donated equipment and money to his team. But the next level is for him to be able to outfit his young team take them to regional competitions (such as the LAUCC) and ultimately to the next world championship, known as Unicon, in Austria in 2026.

Despite requiring great athletic skill, virtually no countries offer support to athletes in unicycling disciplines. The same is true in Colombia.
