Tukuy is a compelling, Argentinian-based film inspired by the Jujuy region, where two biomes, the forest and the desert collide unexpectedly. It displays the story of Sacha, a Mother Tree who has been rooted in the ground her whole life. After centuries, Sacha is at her lowest, desperately using all of her power to keep her dearest Lapacho tree alive for so long. Then the Carnival Devil, Diablito, arrives, introducing her to new colors, sounds, and sensations. She must choose whether to stay rooted in safety, holding on to her duty as mother tree, or risk losing it all, even her own life force, to seek the allure of the unknown.

Tukuy is a student short film being produced through the Savannah College of Art and Design. We are seeking funding so we can compensate our external collaborators, such as Musicians, pay for essential software, and eventually submit our work into film festivals all over the country!
