Hal Rosewall Memorial Bench

Hal was one in a million! He has been a friend to most of us since he joined the SLO Skiers Club in the 1980s. He always gave 100% while helping the Club grow to make it what it is today. He also gave 100% to all of his students that he taught for over 30 years!
It's time for us, as a community, to give back in memory of Hal's life. He was a fisherman in the true sense of the word. If there was only one fish left in the lake, Hal would catch it! Hal LOVED fishing as many of you know. He even organized several fishing trips for the Ski Club which, by the way, were a total blast! During these fishing trips (and ski trips) Hal was at his best; jokes and all!
Back in December 2019, several of us started looking for a place where we could install a memorial bench. The bench will also have a special message on a plaque. The location has been narrowed down to Atascadero Lake Park. Having this bench at Atascadero Lake will also give Sharon and their family a place to visit Hal as he also liked to cast a line into this lake.
At this point, the cost for the permanent cement bench is $3500. We would appreciate any help from the community, SLO Skiers, friends, students, and Cal Poly Alumni, to make this possible. This Go Fund Me account has been set up so that we can raise the funds to make Hal's bench a reality. . Any extra monies will be used to have a special dedication with Hal's loved ones, the community, the Ski Club, students, Cal Poly Alumni, and friends.
