College Tuition for Tanya
Donation protected
It is my honor to introduce you to Tanya. Tanya is graduating this year from Richard Montgomery High School with an International Baccalaureate Diploma and a GPA of 4.45. The International Baccalaurette program gives gifted high school students an opportunity to pursue college-level studies while still in high school. With her hard work and dedication to education, Tanya has been accepted to the Honors College at the University of Maryland. She will be studying in the A. James Clark School of Engineering with the intention to major in bioengineering with a minor in neuroscience in order to become a bio/biomedical engineer. Tanya aspires to help and impact others while applying her passion for mathematics and science. With her winning combination of drive and intelligence there is no doubt in my mind that Tanya will excel in her higher education studies as well as be an extremely valuable asset to our future.
I had the pleasure of meeting Tanya through her mother, Ajeng, who is my sons loving nanny. Ajeng is an extremely hard-working woman and a single mother to Tanya and her 10-year-old son, Nabil. She works two jobs in order to support her family and ensure their best possible future. She does all this while also making my family feel like her own. Her kindness and strength has inspired me to do everything I can to help Ajeng support her daughter’s bright future.
Sadly, Tanya is unable to receive a scholarship or student loans due to being here on a Visa. Most financial aid in the United States is restricted to students who are from the U.S. or who are residents or green card holders. There is some money available for these international students but it is very limited and varies from school to school.
Tanya's tuition is $10,000 a year and with a little bit of financial help from our family and friends I know that we can raise money to help support the education and dreams of a talented young woman. Your kindness will lessen the burden of Tanya's college tuition while helping her pursue her passion to make our world a better place to live. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for any donation you may be willing to offer. Thank you again for your time and regard.
