Tuition for Tyler Stansell
Donation protected
In the summer of 2015, Tyler, experienced great losses when her father, a family friend, and her grandfather died during a short six-week period. Her heart seemed to be irrevocably broken.
Prior to these deaths, Tyler had already faced greater obstacles and slew more demons than any teenager I have taught or known. This past year, Tyler has worked to understand how her experiences have impacted her.
To continue her healing journey, Tyler needs to attend a school where she feels safe and nutured, one where she is respected and loved. The large public schools here are not equpped to help her navigate her past and present while she is learning math, science, Spanish, history, and English. At her current high school, Riley does not have a "safe" place to land when working through unexpected emotions.
Her mother, Jill is also an educator, and we've experienced how teachers and schools who value nuturing and relationship-building are the ones where students learn more about themselves and their world.
We have found that school for Tyler -- Pride School Atlanta. She cannot wait to get started.
Why am I asking for your help?
Unfortunately, our budgets cannot stretch to fund Tyler's tuition this year. And while we are hesitant to ask for help, we know she needs to be learning, learning at the Pride School, so here we are.
How can you help?
Tuition is $500/month with a $1000 deposit. For this year, Tyler needs $3500 to attend classes for the spring semester.
Any donation will be appreciated. For your contribution, you will be able to follow Tyler's experience at school in the blog she and her mother are setting up. There she will tell her story, in her own words, and you can walk with her on her journey. The link will follow in another communication.
Thank you for taking the time to read request.
With love,
Jennifer
