Tuition assistance for Isaac Elliott!

Donation protected
After much hope, prayer, and waiting, Isaac Elliott was recently accepted into the Barnabas Prep program located in Branson, Missouri.  The 24 month program will begin in August, 2019. Barnabas Prep is a faith-based residential and transitional community for adults with disabilities.  Their focus is to provide post high school individuals with assistance in the development of independent living skills and vocational training. These skills are vital for personal and professional success for all of us, and especially for those who, like Isaac, experience more challenges in acquiring them due to having a developmental disability such as being on the autistic spectrum.

Isaac and his parents, Matt and Lela, are thrilled that he is being given this opportunity.  Programs such as these are expensive, intensive and intentionally small (only 20 admissions each fall) so that the students are given a lot of individual guidance in addition to the community based experience.  Unfortunately, there are no scholarships or educational loans available for those who are admitted to the program.  The annual cost of the program is $23,000 per year, for a total of $46,000.  If you would like to learn more about Barnabas Prep, visit their website: https://www.barnabasprep.org/.

Most of you know that Matt and Lela will be sending son Seth off to college this fall as well.  My brothers (Tim, Joel) and I are asking friends of the “Colorado Elliotts” to consider making a contribution of any amount to help offset the expense of the Barnabas Prep program.  It’s hard to imagine another couple who have given more of themselves to their church communities. This is an opportunity to give back to them in a way that is meaningful and that will improve Isaac’s quality of life, as well as that of the whole family.

Please note:  all donations will be held until after Isaac is fully enrolled in Barnabas this fall.   Should the decision be made that he will not proceed with the program, donations will be refunded in the manner in which they were contributed (credit card, debit card, etc.)

Also, if you would prefer to make a more direct contribution (not via GoFundMe), please contact me (Angela, Matt's sister) at [email redacted] and I will give you more information about how to do so.

Thank you again for your continued love, support, and prayers for Isaac, Matt, Lela, Seth and Annie.
