My name is Olivia, my sweet dog Tuhyo had to undergo emergency surgery for a Hip Luxation (dislocation). We were on a walk and she ran after a rabbit, when she reached the end of the leash she had her back right leg engaged, pulling it out of socket.

The surgery was $5,000, with an extra $300 in follow up and medications after an allergic reaction to the sutures. My pet insurance max is $3,000. The minimum was met in July when she was bitten by an aggressive dog. I have already used $550 of the coverage since moving to Seattle. Her re-imaging is quoted to be around $600 which she will need in 3 weeks. The running total is $6,450. After pet insurance reimbursement it will still be $3,950. Whatever your pet insurance max is, raise it.

Many of you know, but I've had extensive health issues the last few years. Tuhyo has been by my side through it all. I moved to Seattle and started a new position 4 months ago after being unable to work. I'm paying current and past medical bills as I continue to recover and find answers. Many of these have been in the last few months.

It seems silly to ask for anything, and it's difficult. But I'll just share my experience. Please do not feel any pressure, but life is hard and long and it's been life-ing too much at me.
