Dear friends and family,
The time is soon approaching for an exciting opportunity to begin. I have recently been blessed with the chance to study abroad this coming year. As most of you know, I recently began attending UC Irvine, studying both English and Biology. And though the classes are harder, I have been working twice as hard at both my rigorous school work and demanding job.
After saving and saving, I have crunched the numbers and have still fallen tremendously short of the cost it takes for airfare, classes, lodging, food, and transportation. So, I am writing to call upon the aid of my loving family and supportive friends to help out a broke college student.
I will be participating in a two part program: first in July, I embark to Firenze (Florence, Italy) where I get to practice my Italian I've been working on all year and immerse myself in learning a new culture rich in art and ancient history. Second, I go to Dublin, Ireland where I plan to study at the renowned Trinity College where some of the greatest writers in history were born and bred (including Oscar Wilde and James Joyce). Here, I will spend a semester learning from great professors and working towards my ultimate goal of graduation.
This will be an amazing opportunity for me academically to learn from some the greatest minds and gaining skills I can use towards my future career. However, it will not be possible without your help.
