Tax deductible
The STEM team from Tucumcari High School has been awarded the Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam Grant, one of only 10 high school teams from across the country invited to participate in an invention celebration taking place June 12-14 at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Their innovative project – an alert system for impending accidents for agricultural workers, may ultimately be granted a U.S. Patent.
The team is hoping to raise $20,000.00 for the trip to cover the costs associated with participating in the competition. The team will travel to Boston on the morning of June 12th and participate in EurekaFest until the evening of June 14th. They hope to stay an additional 4 days to explore Boston and learn about its rich history. This trip will be a once-in-a-lifetime trip for many of the students. The funds will be used for roundtrip airfare, lodging and food for the 10-member team of 8 students and 2 adults.
Your generosity would be so appreciated and the impact on each student’s life is positively enormous!
