Tuckers Asthma Treatment
Donation protected
Tucker lives at the Hayling Island Donkey Sanctuary but has recently been diagnosed with Equine Asthma. As a result, he needs less exposure to dust commonly found in hay and straw and a donkeys' usual environment. Besides the treatment he is receiving from the vets, we have to change some of the things we usually do to reduce his exposure to unnecessary dust whilst still living an enjoyable life mixing with his friends.
One of the ways of managing the problem is to steam the donkey's forage, and we have been recommended the Haygain bale steamer system so we can clean the forage before Tucker and the other donkeys eat it. The cost of the steamer is £2500 alone. In addition, we are changing most of the bedding to dust extracted wood shavings and rubber matting. Tuckers' treatment is already costly and will be ongoing, including the probability of purchasing an equine nebuliser.
We are looking for help to raise £4000 to help give Tucker the best and most normal life he can have. We sincerely appreciate anything you can give.
