Tucker the Cat came to our TNR organization a couple of years ago. We were working with a feral colony in a Chicago suburb when he approached us to say “hi.” He showed a clear preference for staying with humans, rather than continuing on with street life.
It was obvious that he was abandoned from a home because of his lively, social personality. He likes to watch TV shows about birds, enjoys cozying up in bed to wait for you, and loves tummy rubs. Not to mention, he waits by the door to greet anyone who walks in the house.
Initially, Tucker was misdiagnosed with feline leukemia and kept in a foster home, with little hope of being adopted. Later, repeat testing ruled out leukemia and the adoption path was cleared, but Tucker fell very ill with inflammation in his intestines. Exploratory surgery revealed that the damaged part of his intestines should be resected to avoid a lethal collapse.
The surgery is complex, must be done in a specialty center, and must be done soon. The prospect of having a healthy life afterwards and finding a good home is well worth the risk. Tucker is cooperative and patient with doctors, and he wants to get well, but money is an issue (as it often is).
We are reaching out to you for help. Even a small timely donation will make a huge difference for Tucker and his surgical treatment.
Can you find it in your heart to help Tucker live?
