Tucker has been diagnosed with a rare autoimmune neurological disorder called Acute Disseminating Encephalomyelitis (ADEM). On Jan 19, his parents took him to A I DuPont Children's Hospital for abdominal pain, fever, and weakness. Over the next few days, he became lethargic, increasingly weak, unable to stand, and unable to speak. A brain MRI revealed the diagnosis of ADEM. Thankfully, this is a treatable disorder, but he has a long road of recovery ahead. He has already made great progress due to the treatment he has received. He has started talking again and can walk with the use of a walker. He remains hospitalized at DuPont for ongoing treatment. At this time, we are unsure if he will need to go to an inpatient rehabilitation center for intensive physical therapy before returning home. He will certainly need weeks of physical therapy to continue regaining strength, stamina, and coordination. We are hoping to raise money to help with the mounting medical bills related to his hospital stay and upcoming therapy. Prayers are also greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
