Hi, my names Jaelyn. In January I lost the use of my legs and was diagnosed with FND. I struggled with non epileptic seizures from September last year but now with the diagnosis of FND and knowing the symptoms that can come with it I’ve had symptoms for over 2 years but I just pushed it aside. In January after loosing the loss of my legs my mental health has rapidly declined and I have lost all independence due to being unable to walk and my current wheelchair being unsuitable. I’m appreciate to have the one I do however I can’t go outside due to it being unsuitable on different terrains. The photo on here is one that was taken when I was with my younger sister. I’d love to have a suitable wheelchair that I can use outside so I can regain some independence, and do things with my family. My sister has her prom this year and with my current circumstances I won’t be able to make it. I want to be able to go out with my sisters and friends and be able to regain the ability to take my dog on walks when I’m able to be discharged(I’m currently in a psychiatric unit due to the mental toll this has taken on me). Looking at the prices of wheelchairs that would be suitable for my needs , it’s something I’d never be able to cover the full cost of independently , I have started saving however life is moving faster than the amount I’m able to save. I want to be there for my family to make the memories that won’t be able to be replayed
