TU Puerto Rico - Hurricane Relief

"TU Puerto Rico" (Tampa United with Puerto Rico or Tampa Unido con Puerto Rico) is a recent initiative located in the Tampa Bay area whose primary mission is to facilitate the donations of supplies and funds to hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico was directly hit by the strongest storm in its recorded history since 1932, Hurricane María. It is estimated that 100% of power has been lost on the island and that 90% of communications are down as well. Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport is currently closed to commercial airlines as military aircraft begin relief operations on the island.

TU Puerto Rico is dedicated to organizing donation rally events throughout multiple locations in the Tampa Bay are to collect emergency and construction items to send to Puerto Rico. All donations of supplies and funds will be received by government agencies on the ground in Puerto Rico that are redistributing them to the population. Donation of supplies will be received by the Puerto Rico National Guard and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and donation of funds will be donated to First Lady Beatriz Rosselló's local initiative "Unidos por Puerto Rico".
