Heather Lindahl is one of the most amazing people I’ve never met. She is my colleagues wife and though we’ve never even said hi... she has touched my life. The stories I’ve heard about her, literally taking people In to live with her, when they need a place to live, helping other people when she is in need. She is kind and loving. Heather is also very sick.
Dave, Heathers husband, explains her ailments:
Heather suffers from numerous ailments that are too lengthy to list and has had many surgeries. The most prominent and detrimental of those illnesses are fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or now known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) which a serious, long-term illness that affects many body systems. People with ME/CFS are often not able to do their usual activities, they have problems concentrating, remembering, and thinking clearly and sometimes are incoherent. At times, ME may confine her to bed. People with ME/CFS have severe fatigue and sleep problems ME gets worse as she pushes herself to try to do as much as she wants or need to do, when she uses up all her energy for the day doing things others take for granted such as showering or making a bed, she crashes. She has suffered with these illnesses almost 30 years now and in 2015 she found she was no longer able to work.
She loved her work and having purpose as a team builder and manager. This has had an immeasurable cost on her mental health as you can imagine. Depression seems like such a mild definition for what she has endured, and yet she gets up daily and asks how she in her pain and inability to focus and concentrate…how she can help others. She never asks for anything of anyone else. Only what she can do for you.
In the past year, she began getting Ketamine treatments, which have helped immensely. They are quite expensive. However, on top, of this there are the monthly medical expenditures and doctor’s visits, prescriptions, and day-to-day needs. Recently, we found another treatment that shows promise called NAD, It stands for Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, a type of coenzyme found in humans, animals, yeast and basically all living things. The treatment has helped her body by increasing her cognition and energy overall. Its not cheap nor covered by insurance.
Lets meet Heather's need in a tangible way. We are seeking to raise $30,000 to go towards her medical needs.
