Mac's Recovery Fund
Donation protected
This fund is being established by Malachi's family to assist with medical bills and all other bills while he is unable to work.
Yesterday around 9:40 am, Malachi was on his way to his niece's volleyball game. When he didn't show up, we knew something was wrong because he was so excited to go. Grandma Dianne went to his house and work and he wasn't there. His sister Tasia called the hospital and found out what had happened.
Malachi was found under the I-29 and Madison st overpass. When police tried to approach him he was very confused. He didn't know what had happened, just that his head hurt. He became combative and more confused as they tried to help him. In the ambulance and at the hospital, he had several seizures. Because of this, the doctors had to incubate him to try and help calm his brain down. They performed multiple tests. We are still waiting for the results of many of them.
What we know: He has a severe concussion, a scull fracture, and two brain bleeds. They did an Intracranial brain pressure monitor. His brain pressure has gotten better. They were also able to regulate his blood pressure and his body temperature. He responds to their neurological tests. He still has feeling in his legs and arms.
What we don't know: how all of this has affected his brain. As they wean him out off sedation, we will be able to tell the extent of the damage.
During this time the family asks for prayers of healing. Malachi will need all the help he can get in the coming months. We ask that if you are able to contribute financially, you do. This will help ease one of the many burdens he and his family will face over the coming months.
