A Prayer for Pops (Medical/living expenses )
Donation protected

Dear friends, family and fellow beautiful humans. These past few years have been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride for our family as we watched my husbands father Rick Hallett (Pops) fight tooth and nail for his life against a rare lung disease called Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. This disease has robbed him and our family of so much, destroying all in its path including his once thriving hot rod shop!
On February 4th mid afternoon his health took an unexpected turn for the worst and he was rushed to Ronald Reagan hospital and admitted to the ICU. He is in critical condition, on a full lung and heart bypass machine called ECMO, has a tracheotomy In place, and an array of other medical interventions while we sit pray for a double lung transplant to save his life.
If you know Rick then you know that he would go to the end of the earth to be there for his family and right now he needs us more than ever! None of us could have ever anticipated these drastic turn of events, but now that we are presented with them we are also faced with the task of humbly asking for the kindness of others.
His loving wife of 40+ years Samra now having to relocate to Los Angeles, 2 1/2 hours from our home in San Diego so she can be by his side. His Son Adam taking countless hours off of work, away from his children and wife to help facilitate this and support his father. His beautiful daughter Brooke traveling back and fourth from her home in South Dakota to LA to stand by her father and family. We would not have it any other way but with unexpected medical situations comes unexpected medical bills, time away from work, travel expenses, relocation cost, and personal bills that unfortunately do not stop just because our family is in the trenches!
The road ahead of us is uncertain at best, Ricks recovery will be a marathon not a sprint and we’ve only just begun. With his rare blood type B- (less then 2 % of the population) the odds are stacked against us to find him lungs, but if there’s one thing I know of our family it is that we are fighters! It is not in our nature to lay down and give up, we will claw our way out and come out on top! Rick will beat this but we desperately need your help! On behalf of my family I am asking for that help, any donation no matter how big or small would make a profound difference in our lives as we climb this mountain together. Please share this post, pray or send positive energy any support is greatly appreciated.
We thank you from the depths of our hearts~ Hallett family
* If you are in the LA area have O- or B- blood and are willing to donate please do, Rick has a rare blood type B- and needs blood transfusions. You could help him and also others like him ❤️
