Sex Trade Documentary Post-Production

Hello, My name is Andrea Heinz. I am a sex trade abolitionist with lived experience, residing in Edmonton, Alberta. I am presently directing my first film which examines the topic of commercialized sex. The film’s content is nearly done being shot and is approaching the post-production stage. Unfortunately I just received notice that all the grants that were applied for to cover post-production have been canceled due to the global pandemic. Thank you so much! /////////Description: This feature-length documentary follows one year in the life of Andrea Heinz, a former madam and escort who spent 7 years in Edmonton’s licensed commercial sex trade. Heinz, now a married mother of 3, takes the viewer along in her attempt to have the United States of America absolve her of a travel ban she received during her active time selling sex services, subsequently removing the label of “prostitute” ascribed upon her.  Heinz also challenges assumptions, stereotypes and attitudes about buying sex, particularly that it is a victimless crime through glimpses of her public speaking and advocacy in the fight to combat sexual exploitation. In-depth interviews with advocates, community members, as well as buyers and sellers of sexual services will move you and leave you inspired to join the global shift toward a more equal and just society for all.
