Pave The Way: Parking Lot Improvements Campaign

Hello Theatre Tallahassee Patrons, Fans and Supporters!

We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to address critical issues with our parking, exterior lighting, appearance, and accessibility. Your contributions will go directly towards making necessary improvements that will directly impact and benefit all our attendees of upcoming performances!

Why We Need Your Help:

Parking: Our current parking situation has been challenging for both patrons and performers. By improving parking facilities by installing a permanent pavement or parking grid, adding lines, and improving parking stops, we can ensure a smoother and more enjoyable experience for everyone visiting the theater. We also need to repair areas where the current pavement is eroding. Stabilizing our current driveway and parking areas will extend the life of any improvements we make. We will also make major changes to our "overflow" parking behind our facility to make it safer and more accessible for our patrons.

Lighting: Insufficient lighting can impact our theater's overall atmosphere and safety. Upgrading and enhancing our exterior lighting will provide a safer environment for all, and make the theater feel more welcoming an open. We will upgrade all the remaining lot lights to brighter, energy-efficient LED lights and add additional lights in currently dark areas. Each parking surface light costs $800 to convert (via TLH City Utilities); we currently have 9 fixtures that need to be replaced.

Accessibility: We are committed to making Theatre Tallahassee accessible to everyone; along with repairing our current parking, we are working to increase the number of Handicapped parking spaces available to our patrons.

Beautification: Aesthetics matter! We want to enhance the visual appeal of Theatre Tallahassee by landscaping around the entrance, improving the lot around our digital sign, improving the greenery around our drainage pond, removing undesirable and/or dangerous trees, and replacing them with trees more suitable for our lot, and landscaping the areas directly in front of the building. Your support will contribute to creating a more aesthetically pleasing and enjoyable space for everyone.
