Hello to all family, Co-workers and friends.. My name is Randolph (Randy) Palafox Some might remember me as former N.Y.C Correction Officer Palafox. I am embarrassed that i have to do this but, i am in desperate need of financial help. On May 31, 2018 i was injured at work (GMDC before it closed). Unfortunately four months later on September 23, 2018 while i was getting 1 of my 3 children out from the back seat of my car, i was hit from the back by a 85 year old lady backing her vehicle out from a private driveway. When the lady hit me she continued to reverse causing me to push my 8 year old son to the side and pinning me into my car. When she put her vehicle in Drive that is when i fell to the ground. It was a very traumatic experience for my wife, children and myself. I was taken from the accident scene by FDNY ambulance. I am suffering from injuries to my neck, thoracic and lumbar. I have Cervical-5,6,7 broad based disc protrusions, I have thoracic- 6,7,8,9 herniated disc and i have Lumbar bulging disc - 3,4,5,6 with radiculopathy. I have not been able to return to work and was Medically Separated/ Terminated from Department of Corrections. I have chronic back pains with spasms and pains that shoot down my leg and into my testicals, groin area, hips and foot. I have been doing Physical Therapy and trying my best to get back to normal so i can come back to work. I was terminated from Department of Corrections on August 25, 2019 and have no financial assistance. Workers Compensation is not paying me from the work injury and this automobile accident will be years from now before i can collect any compensation. I am asking for help because i have not been able to pay my rent for the past four months now and have been instructed by my landlord that if i am unable to pay rent my family and i will have to move (we have no place to go), I've had to ask friends for food to feed my children. I have asked for help from welfare and was told there is nothing they can do to help because my family and i are not homeless. I am trying my best to stay in a positive mind and spirit. I am asking from my heart, and for my children what ever you can give it will be greatly helpful and appreciated. I am sorry to ask but i don't know what else to do.
