TEAMING UP FOR TIM
Our son Timmy has been battling health issues since he was five. When he turned 17 he was diagnosed with FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis Syndrome) Kidney Disease. We have traveled every avenue trying to help him battle this disease. Within the past two years, his kidneys have gone into total failure and he was put on dialysis. In March of 2015, both of his kidneys were removed, and he is in need of a kidney transplant. Both my husband and myself have been trying to find a hospital that will accept us as a potential donor, however due to health issues of our own we have not had much success. But we will continue our search and explore each and every lead that comes our way.
This battle has been long and hard with many obsticles in our way, but we are trying to keep a positive outlook. Everything takes time and money, and time is of the essense for a new kidney. He has endored many complications from this but in general, he manages to keep a smile on his face. All of this has brought on increased expenses and loss of wages to our household.
We are knocking at your door for support as we take this journey searching and waiting for a kidney for Timmy.
Thank you,
Karen and Tim
Brief description of FSGS:
Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis(FSGS) shows that part of glomeruli or part of capillary loops of glomeruli has pathological changes. Pulp side glomerular is the part influenced first. Obvious lesion of tubulointerstitial appears at the early stage, proteinuria and Nephrotic Syndrome are the obvious clinical symptoms. Its reaction to all kinds of treatments is not good, it is a chronic progressive process and finally develops into Renal Failure.
