McGuire Memorial Fund

After a courtship that to most seemed like nothing short of a Disney film to anyone that met them, Joey and Crystal McGuire were thrilled when they learned they would become parents.  With all of the careful planning and dreams of the future, nothing prepared them to learn during a routine ultrasound that their baby girl has a condition called Edward’s Syndrome, also known as Trisomy 18.  Knowing that their child only had a 10% chance of making it into the world and all the odds that they were fighting against if she did, being the fighters that they are they never gave up hope.

Unfortunately on October 30 at approximately 30 weeks gestation, Caddis Grace, whose namesake came to be through her parents mutual love of fly fishing,  lost her battle against her condition and passed away peacefully inside the safest place anyone could hope to be.

In their journey, the couple has remained quiet about what was happening.  Not for lack of love or out of shame but because that’s not who they are by nature.  They have medical coverage but there are a lot of testing and copays that were not covered.   Then there is the expense from what every parent should never have to do, bury their child. 

As a family, we are asking for donations that help to cover the cost of the funeral, medical expenses and assistance in providing them both adequate time to grieve without having to rush back to work to pay their bills. 

A TINY ANGEL

A tiny angel came to visit us one day.
Remained with us so short a time, and then she went away.
This angel represented hope, hope for a new tomorrow.
This angel represented love, her love was ours to borrow.
She stayed for just a little while but memories last forever.
And yet as tiny as she was, she brought us all together.
She gave us hope; she gave us love – a gift that’s hard to find.
Then Jesus took her home to heaven but He left her love behind.
