Saving Severus
Donation protected
I am raising funds on behalf of our daughter and her family as they deal with a critical health emergency for their furry family member. Severus is more that a mere cat he is an integral member of the family unit and he desperately needs our help.
I know some of you may not consider your pets family and that’s okay, no judgement please. If however, you do understand how deeply people can develop an emotional bond with their 4 legged friends and have the willingness to help, every dollar will make a difference . All we can offer in return is our eternal gratefulness and maybe a couple of Angel points
You see, Severus needs an emergency Kidney Bypass if he is to make it through the week.
Feb 21st 2024 was a normal day and then everything changes. Severus went in for a dental appointment, just a routine cleaning but they had to run a blood panel to make sure he was fit for sedation. It was through this we found out his kidney enzymes exceeded 4x the max range and though he was his typical bright and sharp personality, our magical boy has mere days to live without significant intervention.
The amazing doctors at Banfield, VCA Emergency and subsequently UC Davis have determined Lord Severus needs a kidney to bladder bypass (Subcutaneous Ureteral Bypass Device) or we will lose him.
This is where we ask for your help. The procedure costs upwards of $20,000. The 6 years old and otherwise healthy Sevi has a 94% chance of recovery. Without it he has no chance.
Meet Severus: the most magical cat in the world. Named by a family that loves Harry potter, Severus was found wandering the streets of Los Angeles and transported to the Bay Area for care and adoption. He was just shy of 3 years old and considering his exposure to the elements was in remarkable condition. He was neutered, checked over then placed for adoption. In parallel, my daughters family in the East Bay Area was looking to bring the perfect final member into their home.
Gabriel & Jacquelyn, their two boys Casey & Collin were in pandemic lockdown when they started an extensive search for their 5th family member. Putting in application to shelters for prescreening pictures were exchanged and Jacquelyn responded IMMEDIATELY. He was THE baby they had been looking for, they could tell the sass from a mile away.
Since day 1 there was no “adjusting to the new home”. Severus as he was appropriately renamed, is truly in HIS home and comfortable in the permanence of love and family.
Please consider giving to help Save Severus, every dollar will help offset the surgical costs with a goal for many more years of joy and happiness for both kitty and his young families sake.
