Tsunami Family Fights Wells Fargo

If you Google “Floating House Hawaii,” the photo above will be the first you see. That is our house and was our home. Now, where I once watched my daughters grow and play, there is nothing but an empty lot. It has been that way since the Tohuku Tsunami of 2011 took our home away. Since that time we have been working to rebuild our home.

If you take the time to review the entire video you will see the enormous support from the local community.

MY DAUGHTERS AND I CANNOT THANK THE COMMUNITY ENOUGH FOR WHAT THEY DID FOR US AND THE PEOPLE OF HAWAI'I  BY GIVING THEIR PRECIOUS TIME AND RESOURCES TO PROTECT A PLACE SO DEAR TO ALL OF US.... KEALAKEKUA BAY.

While my daughters and I have done everything we can to rebuild our lives, one thing has been keeping us
from doing so: WELLS FARGO BANK....the largest and most powerful bank in the world. You may have noticed their name in the press lately because of their horrific treatment of their own customers and the general public. They give a whole new meaning to LACK of customer service. Their treatment of their  own employees, their investors and the public in general is truly deplorable.

The tsunami disaster came just 11 months after my husband tragically and unexpectedly died of a heart attack and massive stroke. My two daughters and I have
worked diligently to learn about law and legal procedures and have tried to work with Wells Fargo Bank (the servicer) and U.S. Bank (the mortgage holder) to rebuild our home with the FEMA flood insurance funds. We have even had to sue in Federal court—a very
lengthy and expensive exercise—in order to secure the release of these funds to Wells Fargo.

After finally securing the funds for the purpose of rebuilding our home..SURPRISE!!...Wells Fargo has refused to release the funds to us and want to profit from our loss.  Five years have now passed since the tsunami swept our home into the sea, and over four years have passed since Wells Fargo received our insurance proceeds. Through their legal counsel, Wells Fargo just recently has stated that they have every intention of keeping the funds. These funds do not belong to Wells Fargo. These funds belong to my family. These funds came from the American people like you and me, who pay Federal taxes to help fellow citizens rebuild their communities after catastrophic disasters, such as this tsunami.

Throughout the legal process, the banks have done EVERYTHING possible to wear us down. Rather than try to work out a resolution, Wells Fargo has stonewalled us, leaving our money in an escrow account for more than four years instead of releasing them for rebuilding. We have tried to negotiate for a fair settlement.... but they want it all—the Land and the FEMA funds. We just want to rebuild and resume spending time together in our home, but everything is being swallowed up by the corrupt banking system in place in our country.

It has been a long haul but we can prevail with your help. We have taken it as far as we possibly can. My girls and I are taking on two of the largest banks in the world and we need your help in hiring a trial attorney. We are now finally heading to trial in November to fight the foreclosure action and the taking of the FEMA funds. We must have competent legal counsel if we have any hope of beating the crooked and unethical Wells Fargo and U.S. Bank.

Please help us save our land, rebuild our home, and bring down the big banks. We have uncovered so many illegal and underhanded tactics by these banks that we intend to present in court; with experienced legal counsel, we will be able to fight and win against the corrupt and, quite frankly, broken system. Forged documents, back-dated and robo-signed assignments are just the tip of the iceberg surrounding our case. We
are not the only Americans who have been affected by this corporate greed!

Help us further expose the big banks’ illegal and shady practices to help prevent other wrongful foreclosure actions. They must understand that they will be held accountable for their actions. It is small victories like these that can lead to big changes.

Our case is accessible to the public under the Third Circuit Court Case in Hawaii; US Bank, et al
v. Edwards, et al.

Trial is set for November 15th, 2016.
