APV OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
Malo e lelei Community,
On behalf of Anamatangi Polynesian Voices (APV), we want to acknowledge the overwhelming support we’ve received since the catastrophic event of Jan.15, 2022, which cast a Pacific-wide tsunami from Tonga to every corner of the earth. Our efforts in leading California’s aid to rebuild Tonga has quickly been hoisted onto the shoulders of our state politicians, philanthropic giants and our loved ones near and far. Together, we can.
Our ask is simple – help us fill a Boeing 787 plane with pallets of emergency supplies that will go directly to our families on the ground, by giving what you can. Our people need your help, please act now.
Thanks to our allies at UPS Foundation (California), we will be sending a plane filled with emergency supplies that will depart from our beautiful state of California en route to Fua’amotu International Airport for unloading. Our Tonga chapter, Anamatangi Service Provider, will be receiving our donation to distribute to the families and villages who need it most, while still offering our core services around mental health and climate change during this time of disaster relief.
With the political muscle of California Senator Josh Becker, and the philanthropic influence of Sobrato Foundation, Bears Without Borders and Stanford Medical Health (to just name a few) , our collaborative commitment to supporting the Kingdom of Tonga is one that is rooted in addressing global climate change and sea level rising.
Check out out website for the official packing list (in pallets) and to learn more about our village partners.
We are deeply appreciative of your generosity towards supporting our Kingdom and our people.
