Dear friends and family,
I am excited to announce the second annual Summer Guitar Conservatory, June 7 to 10, 2016. This 4 day event is a day camp for kids ages 8-18. It will be held at our gracious school sponsor, Bellaire High School, in Bellaire, Texas 77401 in the Houston, Texas area.
We have 73 students signed up to participate and perform at the final concert! You are invited to the concerts and especially the Finale Concert on Friday, June 10 at 1:30pm.
I am asking for your help cover the expenses for the classes.
The Conservatory is FREE for students. Houston ISD provides a free location and a free lunch to the students. Students from all over the Houston area are invited to participate (based on interest and musical aptitude), no matter what their economic background. Thus, the majority of our students would not be able to afford such high quality instruction or have these opportunities to achieve at similar full-tuition music camps or festivals.
If you would like to donate and receive a receipt record from Guitar Initiative, Inc., the 501(c)(3) non-profit arts education organization that sponsors this event, then please donate there:

GoFundme takes 9% of the donation, whereas the donate page above uses PayPal, which takes a 2.4% cut. If you'd like to donate by check for 100% of your donation going to this project, contact us at: www.guitarinitiative.org/contact
The expenses are: teacher honorariums, certificates, snacks and materials. Each student will work with 4 to 8 teachers each day. Each teacher is working more than 6 hours per day, including conducting their students on the final concert. The cost for each student is $85 for the entire 4 days. If you can sponsor one student, or provide any amount of funding, your gift will greatly be appreciated and put to good use.
If you support this kind of project, please consider contributing funds here. We want to make this event open to all young aspiring guitarists, regardless of their economic situation. ALL LEVELS of students are accepted.
The teachers and the students work on music for 3 days, then they perform what they have learned on Friday, June 10 at 1:30pm.
Do you need a tax-deductible organization to give to? Our primary non-profit organization sponsor is Guitar Initiative, Inc. , a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to guitar education in schools and in the community. If you would like to donate without this website's overhead (9% I know!), please contact me by email. We will send you a receipt letter for tax purposes.
Also if you'd like to volunteer hours, or donate guitars or guitar accessories, please contact me.
