Starting Over at 53 years old.

I have been struggling with my mental health the past few years without the money or insurance to truly address the issues.

Then the unthinkable happened: I lost my mom. After a couple of days of nausea and vomiting, I took her to the hospital for what we thought was a flu bug. I was told it was a small bowel obstruction and she would be transferred for surgery, so I went home to change and grab some of her personal items.

I got a call while on my way back to the hospital to hurry; she had coded.

When I arrived at the hospital, they were performing CPR. They said she had aspirated after they entered the NG tube and then she coded. Just like that, she was gone.

The grief and depression have been overwhelming. I have spiraled downward quickly into a very deep depression.

I had to move out of our home quickly and put everything we owned into storage.

Then a car accident totaled my car.

I lost my job and the room I was staying in March of this year.

Although I am staying with friends, that is temporary at best.

I am looking for work but lack of reliable transportation has been an issue.

I also filed for unemployment but am weeks away from a determination.

I am now about to lose everything in the storage unit because I cannot pay for the fees or any of my other bills.

I desperately need help to get back on my feet.
