Our family’s world was turned upside down when my dad, Chuck, was involved in a serious accident while helping out on a farm. What was meant to be an act of kindness turned into a life-changing situation.
He suffered severe leg injuries and is now facing multiple surgeries on his leg, and potentially his shoulder. He has a long and difficult road to recovery ahead. He had his first surgery today, and while we’re grateful for the care he’s receiving, this is just the beginning of a long healing process.
To make matters worse, this happened just one day after he turned in his retirement papers. Instead of starting a new chapter and enjoying life, he is now facing mounting medical bills, the inability to walk and an uncertain future.
My dad is a very reserved person, but he has always been there for the people he cares about. He shows up in the quiet ways that matter most. My dad is always a call away. Now it’s our turn to return the favor.
For those of you that know him, you already know Chuck is a Veteran and a Harley rider; someone who loves the freedom of the open road, the sun & any body of water he can find. I worry about him never being able to get on his bike again.
I’ve never seen my dad in this kind of pain before, and it’s been incredibly difficult for our family. We’re creating this GoFundMe out of love for our dad and our parents, and we are deeply grateful for any support during this time. My sister, Britney, and I just want to do whatever we can to take some of the stress off of him so he can focus on healing. It’s hard to ask for help, but we’re trying to better the life of our parents who would do the same for us.
We are raising funds to help cover:
• Medical bills and surgical expenses
• Rehabilitation and recovery costs
• Building a wheelchair-accessible ramp and making necessary modifications to his home, which is currently not handicap accessible
Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference for our family during this time. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean the world to us.
Thank you for your support, prayers, and kindness. We truly appreciate it more than we can express.
