Elijah is a hardworking 25-year-old father of 2 kids. In the early morning hours of Saturday, October 18th, he was in the garage working on demolition derby cars (a strong hobby of his outside of work) when the car jack gave way and crushed the upper half of his body, with his skull pinned between the car and the concrete floor of the garage. His friends, who had been working with him, were able to get the car off of Elijah and get him out from underneath, and start aiding him before EMS and police arrived. Elijah has suffered from a skull fracture, 2 fractured ribs, and fractures to his orbital and temporal bones, which has made it difficult to see and hear. Elijah does have nerve damage to his eyes. He has also suffered from a contusion to his left lung. Elijah was then flown via Life Link to the St. Cloud hospital, where he underwent numerous tests and imaging to determine whether or not surgery was needed. At this time, there has not been a need for any cosmetic surgery. Due to all of this happening, he will be out of work for an unknown amount of time due to his injuries possibly taking months to heal.
We are starting this GoFundMe to help relieve some weight off of him not being able to work to afford his medical bills and take care of his 2 children. This is going to be a long, tough recovery for him as he was always the guy on the go and always busy, whether with work or spending time with his family and friends.
