Help Me Find My Brain!
Can you imagine being confined mostly to your house all the time because your brain would shut down when you come in or out of your own home from over stimulation, from another person talking, or just from normal outside sounds? You can’t even go to the doctor’s office or the store because there is too much noise, light, and movement so your brain shuts off. And when you try to explain something or carry on a conversation, your brain tries but doesn’t have access to the right words or thoughts that used to be easily accessible, which it can’t quite find now. You can read something simple but cannot respond. It is very frustrating and debilitating!!!
That is what life is like now for our adult daughter after she endured another concussion on July 4th this year. She looks the same on the outside, BUT---she says her “brain is scrambled and cords are unplugged“ because of her Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
We are encouraged because we recently found Plasticity Brain Centers in Orlando, Florida, a medical treatment center that utilizes cutting edge diagnostic equipment to locate the neurological problems in the brain and use individualized treatments that can make significant progress in their symptoms, abilities and way of life in one week! The cost for one week of therapy is $8,625!
We have to give our daughter a chance to get her brain back and able to live daily life! Taffy is flying to Little Rock this week to drive her to Florida (there is NO way she would make it through an airport, much less on an airplane with all the sensory overload that would be!) Would you please consider donating even a little bit to this fund so we can get this medical therapy for our daughter?
