This is my totally amazing best friend Brenda, everybody needs a friend like her in their life and I guess I’m the lucky one.
Before she got sick we also worked together so I guess that makes me doubly lucky. She’s like no other friend I’ve ever had and now she’s facing the biggest fight of her life. I’m trying to help her and her family manage the financial impact of being unable to work whilst undergoing treatment and for them to be able to pay their bills and I need you to help me please.
After trying and trying to get an appointment at the doctors for months during the Corona Crisis, the pain and discomfort kept on increasing and after not being able to get an appointment, one night six weeks ago her husband had to call an ambulance when her
pain was too much to bare, she was finally seen and over the next couple of weeks after having scans and test, she was diagnosed with bowel cancer.
The tumour had been growing and growing during lockdown, if only she'd been seen earlier and the pandemic hadn't impacted her trying to get an appointment.
She had an operation to remove the tumour in August however it was too big to remove and so she started chemo a few weeks ago in an effort to shrink it and stop the spread.
She has a beautiful 11 year old daughter and a truly wonderfully supportive husband, however she’s had to stop working now and
is only getting SSP, she won’t be strong enough or well enough to work for a while and I don’t want her worrying about money at a time like this.
I’m asking for your, help me to help her when she needs it the most, I don’t want her worrying about where the money is coming from to pay their bills or buying her daughters Christmas presents. They are truly wonderful people and in this dark and scary time of their lives, would you please help me to keep a little light shining for them and making the next 6-12 months as worry free as possible.
