My next door neighbor of the last 15 years Sherman, a retired united states veteran who has occupied his residents for over 40 years was recently forced to leave his rental unit here in the bay area. He can no longer afford the rent here and our landlord was concerned with his health and safety so he contacted the only family Sherman has in Alabama. His family was able to afford a plane ticket to get him out to them but that is all. EVERY thing he owns is still hear. ALL of his belongings, his clothes, picture albums, home movies, all of his veterans memorabilia, trophy's, the list goes on and on.
After speaking with the landlord, he has agreed to give me a small amount of time to try and raise the funds necessary to send Sherman's personal belongings to him.
I have called many shipping container company's and have a pretty good idea on the costs involved, this is the minimum amount I am trying to raise. The more people who choose to contribute, the larger the shipping container could potentially be.
I have never created a donations page like this, but I imagine there are a lot of veteran's and family's of veteran's out there who would like to be apart of this good deed if possible.
Please consider contributing to this cause, a man who devoted most of his life to this country deserves this.
