I am so not the type of person to ask people for help- especially from potential strangers. But I'm sucking up my pride because my partner and I are desperate. We have been living on the Gold Coast in Australia and prior to that we were in Sydney. In the four and a half years that we have been together, we adopted two beautiful rescue cats that have become our family.
My Dad suddenly became very sick and I have had to fly home to Canada to be with him. He remains in Critical Care and I have been told if he survives, he has a long recovery ahead of him. I can't leave my Dad, he needs me right now more then ever. My partner had found a temporary home for our babies and has booked a flight to come be with me at the end of January for support and some much needed time with my family.
We received a message from the lovely girl who agreed to take the cats and she does not feel Nixon is settling. We have been unable to find another home for him. We looked into flying them here but it was over $3,000 to get them to Canada. We simply don't have the money. My heart was broken giving them up but now that it isn't working out, I am feeling a burst of determination to try to get the money to keep them. If we raise enough, we get to keep our babies. They get to come be with us again and just having the thought that this may be possible warms my heart and makes me smile.
I'm so sorry to ask you for help. Whether you are a family member, a friend or a complete stranger, I am so sorry. I hate asking for money but I'm hoping our story can in some way touch people's hearts so we can get Nixon and Kyla back to our family where I genuinely believe they belong.
Whether you donate or not, thank you so much for reading our story. There are no words to properly express how much we appreciate your time and positive thoughts.
