I apologize for any disjointed writing, I'm not in a terrific headspace.
Hello, my name is Derek & I am a medical attendant for my disabled mother, Brenda, who, amongst other diagnoses, has myoadenylate deaminase deficiency, dermatomyositis, morphea, & most recently stage 3 breast cancer. We have had a slew of misfortune in recent years, but have weathered the storm.
However, most recently we've found ourselves unable to find housing, as our previous place of residence that we were renting for two years needed to be put on the market. As housing is uncertain, we cannot begin my mother's treatments until we solve our dog & housing issue.
The primary issue in finding housing is that we have three dogs(aged 12, 8 & 7), all of which we've owned since they were puppies & since long before my mother became ill, and at the time we had secure, rural housing. For the last four years we have not had secure housing, but we were able to keep our dogs & keep them happy.
Now that we are in a position where we are unable to keep our dogs, we plan to find a dog friendly hotel & begin to adopt them out, starting with the youngest.
We are aware that we have to be swift so we can find reliable housing & begin my mother's treatment, but we are hopeful that we will be able to keep the oldest two, or at least the oldest, but the option for adoption will have to come before we are at a point where we are unable to provide a happy life for them. They are very important family members to us, but we know my mother's health & our housing situation must come first.
