Hi,
To those who have already made generous donations and provided moral and practical support and advice, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am inching ever closer towards my goal, thanks to all of you, and I’m just $990 away from success. Moving is expensive. Everything is expensive, as you all know.
I’m Deb, 61, and I’m searching for resources to support my family as I navigate the public assistance process.
My family is living in unhealthy and unsafe conditions, existing on my very small disability pension, which barely pays the rent. My daughter has several very serious health issues that make it impossible for her to work, and her disability pension pays for everything else. I have not been able to fill crucial prescriptions, buy nutritious food or take proper care of my family since I spent two weeks on life support and a further two weeks in recovery in hospital due to COVID, then a second stay of three weeks due to complications a month later. I have been trying, and failing to get back on my feet ever since. I have Multiple Sclerosis and COVID had a brutal impact on my physical, mental and emotional health. I feel as if I am drowning, and the truth is that giving up looks more and more reasonable option every single day.
Any fund’s generously donated by kind individuals will be used to move into safe, secure housing and to help support my family. I am searching for work. but at my age and in my current state of health, it is very difficult to get an interview for any position, anywhere. I will continue to search, though. I have never been considered lazy or weak.
I feel broken and tired and I need help to recover.
Any donations, no matter how small or large, will be so gratefully appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
