My name is Angie and I am would like to introduce my brother James. He is a brother ever sister should have. He's a man that he would give his shirt off his back if that's the only thing he had to give. In his toddler years he was diagnosed with cancer and it was the size of a soft ball on the back of his brain and only given a short time to live. I am only 1 year older than him so at the time I really didn't understand what was happening other than my mom was always gone with him at the hospital in Minneapolis and I had to stay with my Aunt and cousins. But hes a fighter and wasnt going out like that. He still has to go in annually for check ups but here we are in our mid 40's and life is still happening. Our parents divorced when I was 9ish and he 8ish and that ment I got to grow up because I had to help mom while she worked. He was a lot of responsibility for someone my age. He has gone his whole life with with just about every struggle possible from learning to living. Jobs were even a challenge because there was always something he lacked but he's smart when it comes to small engine repair. Somewhere around 15 years ago he got a job working for Jack Links Distributing Center. With that we was able to buy himself a house, take care of his son, and has bought numerous different cars and just paid 1 off. He loved that job it was everything he he knew and they knew he could do and do it well. He was a hard worker and very dependable. But round 5ish years ago he 1 day went in the room to take a nap to wake up and have his whole life change...he had his 1st stroke. So now we r back hospitalized learning how to eat and walk all over again. After about a month of that and still in the hospital he was angry they wouldn't let him leave when he had bills, a house and a job to attend to. Once he was able to leave he still wasn't very good on his feet so he was blessed with getting a cane to take every where with him. I also work at the same place as he just opposite side of the building. I had talked with all his people and told them he HAD to walk with it and if he didn't to please come and get me. I know silly right we were grown in our early 40's. He would get heated everytime after that when he would see me come walking over there. I didn't mind at all I'm his big sister. I do believe he has fallen while at work but nothing bad. Since then I have moved from Iowa so I haven't worked with him in nearly 4 years. He has had more strokes and I just learned a blood clot. His walking is much worse but is still doing his thing as normal. As if nothing could get any worse back in November 24 they announced Jack Links were closing there doors at the location as of January 25. So now he sits with no job and life as we know it is still coming. He wants to work and there are jobs he "might" be able to get but everywhere is about 30 minutes and pay would support driving for. To get on disability again is going to also take some time. The severance pay they gave is not going to take him very far either. If anyone can help (even if its sharing) my brother he would be forever grateful!
