Hello, my contiguously broke ass is asking for help again.
My life has changed a lot in the last 4 years I've been transitioning. I'm a lot more comfortable in myself. But things are still very, very difficult for me.
Sadly, we live in a world where if a person doesn't look exactly like what others think "a woman" or "a man" should like, their lives are made very difficult. Economically and socially, but also psychologically and emotionally.
My depression is greatly exacerbated by the fact that I don't look like, and thus others don't perceive me as, who I feel that I am inside. These misperceptions come about mostly because of aspects of my face. After years on hormones, and getting SRS, I've moved a bit more towards what I think I should look like. But because of the coarse hair on my face (I love my Arab and Italian genealogy sometimes, but this is the part of it that aggravates me), and some aspects of its structure, I still get socially processed as "a man" a lot of time, which is incredibly depressing and frustrating.
Laser hair removal is very expensive, and facial feminization surgery is ridiculously expensive. Hence the insane goal of this campaign. I don't expect to raise all of it, it's just a dream. But if I raise some money that can help me pay for laser hair removal, that would be great. And some money to pay for therapy would also be sick.
Unlike a lot of the other """broke""" transsexuals, I have no family support, and have been on my own for a long time. And like a lot of us, I'm very precariously employed and underemployed. I just moved to a new city and haven't had a job in months. So, anything helps, really.
