Truthteller EP by Colin Colford

Greetings, citizens!

Alright, let me just come out and say it – I want your money. Haha!

I need your help. I want to release more music. I’ve been cooking some really exciting new songs that are gonna be on an EP I’m hoping to drop in July.

And they’re different than what you might expect. It’s pop rock, it’s catchy and danceable, but it’s not all heartbreak and unrequited love. There’s some real depth to these songs.

I have one that’s all about the modern artist’s relationship with Instagram and feeling the need to make everything in their life look pristine and curated.

Another song is about the natural world, and how great it feels to connect with nature and our bodies, rather than living inside our heads all the time.

There’s a song about my inner child and my own journey connecting with him over the years.

And yeah, there’s a heartbreak song.

These tunes are itching to get released into the world. I can feel them tugging at my pant leg, saying “when is it my time?”

The problem is, it’s expensive to get music produced. I’m even doing most of the work myself, but there are some things I just can’t do on my own.

I want to hire musicians to lend their unique talents to these recordings.

I want to work with a local producer to elevate the song’s production level and collaborate with new ideas.

And I want to pay my band when I perform an EP release show.

If you donate ten dollars, I’ll send you a link to listen to the new EP a week before it releases to the world.

If you donate 25 dollars, you’ll get the link, as well as a monthly video of my creative process, behind-the-scenes footage of me and my band rehearsing and recording the songs, and some general fun buffoonery as the EP takes shape.

For 50 dollars you’ll get all of the above, and my band will perform a cover song of your choosing in a video, where we’ll give you a shoutout

If you donate 100 dollars, you’ll get the link and monthly video, and I’ll invite you to spend the final day of mixing and mastering with me in the studio. You’ll hear all the songs before anyone else, you can ask me questions about the songs and how they came to be, and if you’re a musician or a singer maybe you can add a little something to one of the tracks. Plus, you’ll get free tickets to my release show with the full band.

So look, things are crazy in the world right now, I know. But if you can donate even a buck, you’re support means that you believe making art is worth doing even in crazy times. Maybe especially in crazy times. We need things to look forward to.

I can’t promise that you’ll love my music. But I think you’d agree that we need music. And we need NEW music, fresh ideas, and artists that take risks to make meaning out of all the craziness going on in the world.

The EP is called Truthteller, because in a culture that plays crazy games, sometimes the biggest risk is to look around and say “why are we all doing this? We’re hurting ourselves, playing these games. Why don’t we all just stop and smell the roses?”

Thanks for taking the time to check this out. Much love to you all, stay sane!
